What is Marketing AI?

Marketing AI refers to tools and technologies using artificial intelligence to help us make automatic decisions.

Furthermore, generative AI tools for marketing help us create content and copytext.

These tools use large amounts of data to formulate text based on our input and prompts. In other words, AI content generators use natural language processing tools to create computer-generated copytext.

You could use it as such, but computer-generated text isn’t social media savvy, and if that tone of voice is not your natural tone of voice, your audience will quickly detect something odd in your copytext content.

Not all marketing AI tools are alike in terms of quality. You may want to test options to find what helps you best in your marketing needs.

5 Examples of How Marketing AI is Revolutionizing Copywriting

1. Personalizing Your Marketing Content

One of the prime benefits of marketing AI is the ability to personalize content for your target audience. Marketing AI can analyze your customer data and create targeted content that resonates with your audience and does wonders for your conversion rates.

Based on their behavior patterns and preferences, you can target your customers to offer them customized services/solutions. Marketing AI can also suggest personalized offers to increase your customer base.

2. Data Analysis

Marketing AI can analyze vast amounts of data to understand the behavior of your target audience, including their interests, habits, and demographics.

These insights can help you to tailor your content to your audience and create more effective content.

Marketing AI can also predict and analyze customer behavior, allowing you to target your marketing campaigns more efficiently.

3. Better SEO Optimization

SEO is crucial for driving traffic to your website, and creating optimized content can be time-consuming and difficult.

However, marketing AI can help to optimize your content for SEO by analyzing your keywords and generating new ones. Additionally, marketing AI can identify the best opportunities for link building and optimize your meta descriptions for better click-through rates.

4. Streamlining the Content Creation Process

Another advantage of marketing AI is that it streamlines the content creation process.

Copywriters can use AI-powered tools to generate new ideas and help to automate the research process.

This helps streamline the content creation process and frees up time for copywriters to focus on more creative tasks.

5. Analyzing Content Performance

Marketing AI platforms can track and analyse your content’s performance in real-time.

This data enables you to evaluate the effectiveness of different types of content and adjust your marketing strategies accordingly.

By using data analytics, you can improve your content strategy over time and make more data-driven decisions.

Marketing AI is a game-changer for copywriters

Marketing AI is a game-changing tool for copywriters, as it can increase the efficiency of the content creation process.

Whether it’s personalizing content, analyzing data or improving SEO optimization, marketing AI can make copywriting simpler and more efficient.

By utilizing AI-powered technology, copywriters can create better, targeted content and free up time to focus on other essential aspects of marketing.

In today’s highly competitive marketplace, utilizing marketing AI could be the edge that your business needs to stand out, get noticed and make an impact.

A few well-known examples of how AI is already present in our lives

I was inspired by these examples by Paul Roetzer. He is the author of Marketing AI book and the founder of Marketing Artificial Intelligence Institute and for sure knows a lot about this topic!

  • YouTube suggests as what videos to watch.
  • Gmail finishes our sentences.
  • Facebook targets us with ads.
  • Spotify learns the music we love.
  • Alexa and Siri answer our questions.
  • TikTok personalizes our For you page
  • Amazon predicts our next purchase.
  • Netflix recommends us shows to watch.
  • Google Maps routes as to our destination.
  • Apple unlocks our phones by scanning our faces.
  • LinkedIn recommends connections.

We already use AI daily without even paying much attention to it.

AI makes predictions and outcomes based on your behavior. We’ve talked about social media algorithms on this show multiple times. Same thing.

AI is not really a new thing. Most of these AI innovations are over a decade old.

Even ChatGPT was over 2 years old when first introduced!

“AI will be embedded in our careers and every tool we use in marketing.”

The same Paul Roetzer predicts AI will be embedded in our careers and in every tool we use in marketing.

Which also means talent marketing and talent acquisition. And we won’t even think much about it!

This is the age of intelligent automation, and it will change marketing forever.

This is the age of intelligent automation, and will change marketing forever.

Paul Roetzer

I mentioned in this podcast about a year ago how there will be another fundamentally changing evolution in marketing happening over the next 2-3 years and this is it.

But we need not to worry about it.

Generative AI is not going to replace your job or not even my job.

You still have to tell the AI what you need. The AI is not going to know that for you.

Humans still need to provide AI strategic insight and information, empathy, make edits to the generated copytext and suggestions and understand their audience to provide the audience with desirable content.

You also need to know whether what the AI generates is true or not. You cannot boldly trust everything. At least not for a while.

But AI will help you in the marketing job, that’s for sure.

The effectiveness of Marketing AI boils down to the quality of the input

Let’s talk more about the input required from you and me.

This is important because, the effectiveness of the Marketing AI you use comes down to the quality of the input you provide the tool with.

The input is the information you give the tool when you make a request to generate an output.

Depending on which marketing AI tool you use, the input requested seems to be anything from wide to detail. Anything from topic or. question to the tone of voice and target audience.

A lot of trial and error goes into using these tools.

I’ve used the ChatGPT most and it keeps reminding me that it cannot provide me anything newer than from 2-3 years ago.

The point with how AI is not going to take our jobs goes into being qualified enough to give the AI proper inputs.

The more quality outputs we get, the more quality inputs we provide. And our job is to make sure we have enough information to generate quality inputs.
